If I’m not in control of my thoughts, then who is!? Many of us go through several tasks a day, and sometimes, I think back to the day and it can be a complete blur. Can you remember what happened this morning?! We move from one thing to another, and our mind follows suit. In fact, our mind one ups us, and as we are sitting in the 3rd meeting for the day, it continues to jump.
Even though we are in a pandemic, I feel the need to plan. That is hard to do when the world is changing rapidly.
It has been four months for us here in the Midwest…
The current outlook from where I sit:
- I am working from home, with no concrete date when we will return to the office.
- My kids are home, for summer break – HOWEVER,
COVID19 – Day 6
Still, dumbfounded and baffled about what has taken place in the past several weeks due to COVID19?! You are not alone! Today, all three of my kids cried. Not out of pain, not out of true sorrow (I don’t think?!), but just out of the annoyance with each other. It is day 6 of our mandated “staycation.”
Now, we are fortunate in so many ways. So far,
5 Free things to do with your kids right now!
There is nothing like hearing your kid’s say “I’m bored.” The only thing worse is when you are too! Although I claim I can never really be bored because at any given moment I could think of 50 things that need to be done around the house, but this is not what my 6-year-old has in mind. If you are bored of coloring and you know your kids have had way too much screen time – try one of these five ideas you can do right now.
Ever feel guilty when you try to accomplish something for yourself? So often we are busy with making sure everyone else in the family is accomplishing their goals. Even if it is reading for 20 minutes a day and coloring homework, we have to “fit in” time for what we want to do. Let’s face it unless we consciously carve out time for us – we won’t get it. There will always be just one more load of laundry,
I will let you in on a little secret of mine…I love planning my children’s birthday parties. I love having a theme and wowing them with the details. Making it as awesome as well as “kid” practical as I can. Seeing it all come together thrills me. I usually start planning two months in advance, making sure the theme is solid 4 weeks before the big day when we hand out invitations.
Well,
It’s that time of year again. You volunteer to take on a new PTO task, chaperone your kid’s field trip, pick up breakfast for your colleagues, and before you know it, your list has grown out of your control. Feelings of overwhelm can seem to creep up overnight and leave many of us feeling frozen, without knowing how to shake it! When we are stuck trenches, it stops us from seeing the joys of everyday life.
